Master Session Key (MSK)

A key derived between an EAP client and EAP server and exported by the EAP method.

A key derived between an EAP client and EAP server and exported by the EAP method. Used to derive the PMK, which is used to derive the PTK. The MSK is used in 802.1X/EAP authentication implementations. In personal authentication implementations, the PMK is derived from the pre‐shared key.
