      Request to Send/Clear to Send (RTS/CTS)

      A frame exchange used to clear the channel before transmitting a frame in order to assist in the reduction of collisions on the medium.

      A frame exchange used to clear the channel before transmitting a frame in order to assist in the reduction of collisions on the medium. Also used as a backward compatible protection mechanism.
